In playing online Baccarat, most of the action is handled by the dealer. The dealer would draw the cards according to the rules of the Baccarat game in progress, at which the player does not have any decisions to make. Players would make only two decisions: The amount of the bet and the selection of the position that they think will win the next hand.
The house banks all bets and makes the payouts on each hand. When the player picks their position and wager amount, there are no more decisions for them to make.
Playing Online Baccarat uses eight decks of cards shuffled after every hand and dealt from a shoe, just like Blackjack. Four cards are dealt, the second and fourth cards to the Banker’s hand and with the first and third cards going to the Player’s hand.
Once the Banker and the Player receive their cards, their point total is shown below the hand on the screen. If either hand has a total of 8 or 9, no additional cards will be dealt. The hand determines the winner by the person (Player or Banker) whose total is closest to 9. If both hand totals are equal, declared as a “Tie”.
If a winning hand is not content during the initial draw, a third card will be drawn by the dealer. The third card is dealt face up, first to the hand of the Player and then, if necessary, to the hand of the Banker. Only one additional card per hand may be dealt.

Additionally, players could also bet on Player and Banker hand, or Player and Banker Pair or Tie hand at the same time.
Side Bets (Player Pair and Banker Pair)
Popular side bets in online Baccarat include the “Banker Pair” and “Player Pair” options. This side bet consists of betting if the first two cards dealt either to the Banker or the Player. This side bet has a pay rate of 12 to 1.
Card Values
- 2 through 9 count as face value
- Aces count as one (1)
- 10s and picture cards count as zero (0)
Third Card Rules
The Banker or Player might or might not receive a third card based on the following:
– The Player’s total is 5 or below, the player is forced to draw.
– If either the Banker or the Player has a total of an 8 or 9, they are forced to stand.
– The Player stands, the Banker will draw a third card if their total is 5 or below.
